San Miguel

Island San Miguel despite having several populations of size medium and monuments of interest, has its main attraction in nature.

Its large craters or caldeiras occupied l akes, botanical parks Furnas and Ponta Delgada , looked that occur on the coast, protected natural areas and a large plot of hiking trails, will delight the most demanding climbers.

The high humidity keeps the radiant vegetation throughout the year; perhaps why it has been dubbed the Green Island.

To get around the island as a whole takes at least five days. Besides the capital, the area is highly recommended for Sete Cidades lagoons. Ribeira Grande Furnas with its boilers, botanical park and lake Furnas peak areas are also tourist attractions.
