Rysy

Pico Rysy is a mountain located in the Tatra Mountains, particularly in the High Tatras. Located right on the border between Poland and Slovakia .

Rysy has three peaks: the middle one is 2503 meters, 2499 meters north-south and 2,473 m. The north-western peak, located in Poland, is the highest point of Poland; the other two peaks are in the territory of the Slovak border in the region of Pre?ov .

Tatras are a mountain range separating Slovakia from Poland, although only 30% in Poland.

They have a length of approximately 60 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide. You can differentiate the High Tatras in the east with a more alpine look, and the Western Tatras in the milder west. They are part of the Carpathian mountain range.

Lto Slovak part was declared a national park in 1948 and the Polish area did in 1953.

Pico Rysy

This trip, even climbing to the roof of Poland , we will in the Slovenian territory. Access to Pico Rysy from the Slovenian side is much easier than the ascent from the Polish side.

The start of the climb is in the Hotel Refugio Popradské Lake 1495 meters. From here take the road out of the shelter and to match the way with white and red markings. A few meters we find a deviation to the right with a signpost to our destination. Rysy peak

The road goes to the top by a beautiful pine forest. Later we found a crossroads and we must take that off to the right towards the Pico Rysy with white and red markings.

The road goes up to the Lakes Zabie 1920 meters. From here you have a splendid view of the Rysy .

Now the slope is steeper and some steps have chains to ensure our progress. Thus we arrive at Shelter Rysy with its 2250 meters of altitude, which is the highest altitude of the Tatras .

The road up to the pass of 2340 meters Váha where you turn left to take the last flight that leaves from the Slovak Rysy 2503 m and the Rysy Polish 2499 meters.

A final effort to reach the top and see the wonderful spectacle of the mountains around us.

The return along the same path.
